Diese Widerstände sind isoliert und können leicht in kompakten Konstruktionen eingebaut werden. Sie wurden eigens für hohe Impulslasten im Vergleich zur Durchschnittslast entwickelt. Die Nennlast lässt sich durch Zwangslüftung oder durch Montage der Widerstände auf einem Kühlkörper verbessern. Die Widerstandselemente sind auf Glimmer-Halter gewickelt. Niedrigere Widerstandswerte sind als spiralförmige Elemente auf einen Keramikhalter gewickelt. Das äußere Gehäuse ist ein Aluminiumprofil mit Isolierung aus Micanite-Blättern auf allen inneren Oberflächen. Die Widerstandselemente sind dank der Glimmer-Bauweise symmetrisch im Profil befestigt. Dies gewährleistet eine symmetrische Ausdehnung der Widerstände und maximale Stabilität gegenüber Impulsen mit hoher Last. Das Aluminiumprofil mit dem festen Widerstandselement ist mit Quarzsand gefüllt. Dies gewährleistet eine minimale Änderung der Oberflächentemperatur selbst dann, wenn das Widerstandselement seine maximale Temperatur während einer Impulslast erreicht.

Die Widerstände der Serie Alpha von Danotherm umfassen vollständig geschweißte Drahtwiderstände in Silica-Sand, isoliert mit Micanite und montiert in einem Gehäuse aus eloxiertem Aluminium. Das Grundmaterial ist hitzebeständiges Micanite mit einer Langzeitstabilität bis +700 °C und kurzzeitiger Beständigkeit bis +1000 °C. Die Konstruktion verfügt über eine hohe Beständigkeit gegenüber Temperaturänderungen. Diese Bremswiderstände erfüllen die Schutzart IP50 für hohen elektrischen und thermischen Schutz. Danotherm hat eine thermische Simulation für alle Widerstandstypen und Widerstandswerte entwickelt. Durch die Verwendung dieser Modelle konnte Danotherm die Temperaturanstiege im Widerstandsdraht und auf der Oberfläche für alle möglichen Lastanwendungen berechnen.
CBR-H-Widerstände von Danotherm sind ideal für Anwendungen in elektronischen Antrieben mit variabler Drehzahl als Bremswiderstände.
